Interested in Starting a New Club/Group

May 16, 2016

social-groups

We’ve had several community members inquiring about shared interests and if anyone had a Club/Group organized.  An example of an existing club is the Book Club, however there is the potential for many more!

If you’d like to start a club/group and get your information out there, let us know!  Some ideas that have been put forward are, knitting, sewing, running and photography.

Let us know if you are interested in anything and we can help connect you!

Membership Campaign – Something a Little Different for 2016/2017

March 10, 2016

You read that right! For the 2016/2017 membership year our resident membership is FREE!

Now the tricky part; to let every household in the community know! That’s where we need your help.

For the 2016/2017 Membership Campaign we want to go back to the traditional route of offering it to community members by going door-to-door. This may seem like a daunting task, but with a few volunteers we could have this completed fairly quickly!

The best part is that there is no selling involved because the residents membership is FREE! The form is very simple, keeping the information gathered to the basics and then just informing them of monthly events as well as our annual events (ie. AGM, Stampede Party etc.).

If you are interested in volunteering please reply to membership@winstonheights.ca.

Thank you and we look forward to having you on the team!

For residents to join the Winston Heights-Mountview Community Association (free for the 2016/2017 year) please complete this form.

For non-residents or businesses (associates members) to join the Winston Heights-Mountview Community Association ($10 for the 2016/2017 year) please complete this form. (You will be redirected to PayPal upon submission).

Best Neighbourhood Survey for 2016 Closes Feb 28

February 24, 2016

For the seventh consecutive year, Avenue magazine is asking Calgary residents to express their opinions in the Best Neighbourhoods Survey at AvenueCalgary.com/survey. The survey takes less than 10 minutes to complete and closes on February 28, 2016.

Avenue awards the Best Neighbourhoods distinction based on survey responses and data analysis. “We ask our survey respondents to rank a variety of neighbourhood attributes and amenities to determine what kind of neighbourhood Calgarians want to live in,” says Avenue managing editor Jay Winans. “When we compare the responses to the actual attributes of Calgary’s neighbourhoods, we discover, in the most objective way possible, which neighbourhoods most closely match where Calgarians want to live.”

To develop the survey, Avenue partnered with Leger, a research and strategic marketing firm, to create a series of questions that will determine which community characteristics Calgarians deem most desirable. The top-ranked neighbourhoods for 2016 will be those that best fulfill those criteria. Avenue also looks at third-party data, such as crime statistics and property values, when ranking Calgary’s neighbourhoods.
