The Farm Stand Program continues to grow, and we’re proud to support The City of Calgary’s initiative to bring more locally and regionally grown food into Calgary communities while supporting local farmers and producers. This program helps create greater access to fresh, nutritious food while strengthening a more sustainable and resilient local food system.
Through the Food Action Plan, Calgary is creating more opportunities for communities to grow, share, and purchase local food. The initiative supports urban agriculture, community partnerships, food education, and improved food accessibility for all Calgarians.
We’re excited to feature produce from Broxburn Vegetables, a trusted local grower known for exceptional quality greenhouse and field-grown fruits and vegetables. Broxburn operates a 3-acre greenhouse using environmentally responsible growing practices, including biological pest control methods that rely on natural predators instead of chemical pesticides. Their commitment to sustainable farming helps deliver fresh, healthy produce to our community while supporting innovative and environmentally conscious agriculture across Alberta.
