UPDATE: Family Day Weekend “Skate” Party: Tomorrow – Feb 14, 11:30am-3pm

February 13, 2016

UPDATE:

Regardless of weather or rink conditions (its supposed to be warm and sunny) the event will take place.  We know that the rink may not be suitable, but we have other options for ‘sporty’ fun (ball hockey and/or basketball).  Plus we have the food ready to go, crafts prepared, door prize and 50/50 tickets.  We even have a #SelfieBooth for you to share your Family Day fun with everyone!

Best Neighbourhood Survey for 2016 Is Now Open

February 6, 2016

For the seventh consecutive year, Avenue magazine is asking Calgary residents to express their opinions in the Best Neighbourhoods Survey at AvenueCalgary.com/survey. The survey takes less than 10 minutes to complete and closes on February 28, 2016.

Avenue awards the Best Neighbourhoods distinction based on survey responses and data analysis. “We ask our survey respondents to rank a variety of neighbourhood attributes and amenities to determine what kind of neighbourhood Calgarians want to live in,” says Avenue managing editor Jay Winans. “When we compare the responses to the actual attributes of Calgary’s neighbourhoods, we discover, in the most objective way possible, which neighbourhoods most closely match where Calgarians want to live.”

To develop the survey, Avenue partnered with Leger, a research and strategic marketing firm, to create a series of questions that will determine which community characteristics Calgarians deem most desirable. The top-ranked neighbourhoods for 2016 will be those that best fulfill those criteria. Avenue also looks at third-party data, such as crime statistics and property values, when ranking Calgary’s neighbourhoods.
