Details: Sturgess Architecture will be hosting an Open House for the 20-unit development set for 508 – 512 17 Avenue NE.
We encourage all community members to attend to view the plans, ask questions and voice your opinion!

Reminder! Mobile Skate Park Opens at 11am TODAY, August 11, 2017

The free Calgary skateboarding program opens today at the WinstonHeight-Mountview Community Hall.

Helmets are mandatory while using the park and you are welcome to bring your own skateboard, rollerblades or scooters to the park! Rental skateboards and helmets are free to use on a first come first serve basis!
Change of Office Hours: July 31- August 4, 2017

The office is closed this week (July 31-Aug 4) – emails and messages will be checked in the evenings Monday, Tuesday, Thurs and Fri. The office is open the following week (Aug 8-11) between 9am-12pm on Tues, Thurs & Fri.
Reminder from the Garden

The community garden would like to welcome everyone to come visit and see how well our crops are progressing this year. We ask you not to pick from the individual beds, as there are signed tasting gardens, an herb spiral, and lots of fruit trees and bushes, including some giant rhubarb, from which guest are welcome to sample.
Also, please remember that lots of our trees and shrubs are still in their tender early years and need to be treated gently.

Local Area Theft

–LOCAL AREA THEFT–
This is footage from a home in Mount Pleasant on June 13th where this package was taken by an unknown individual. Other security footage shows him driving up and down the street four times in a blue truck with some sort of decal on the side before taking this from their front step.
Anybody with information as to this individual should call the non-emergency Calgary Police Line at 403.266.1234 or CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
Please be cautious with any deliveries in the neighborhood!

Become a Member: (please note the membership year is not the calendar year, it runs from April 1, 2017 – March 31, 2018)
We invite you – and each of your neighbours – to join the Winston Heights-Mountview Community Association by getting this year’s (2017/2018) residents membership FREE.
Your community association does many things for you and your neighbours. For example, we:
- Host community events such as the Stampede BBQ, Community Recycling Day and the Santa Claus Breakfast;
- Work with the City to comment on proposed developments and to address traffic issues;
- Keep you informed about your neighbourhood via a monthly newsletter, e-newsletter, Facebook and Twitter; and
- Maintain the Community Hall, which includes four rentable halls, basketball hoops and the hockey rink for your use.
Over the past couple of years your community association has also built the:
- Community Garden;
- 7th Street Playground;
- Two demonstration Rain Gardens;
- Centennial Garden;
- and we are currently working with the City to finish the Munro Park redevelopment.
There are many benefits to holding a membership in your Community Association:
- Discounts or free admission to community events or programs; and
- Finding out about, and having your voice heard on, issues affecting the neighbourhood.
