We are thrilled to have had such a wonderful turnout for this year‘s Santa Breakfast!
Over 225 smiling faces joined us for a pancake breakfast, hayrides and a visit with Santa.
We can‘t make events like this happen without the help of so many volunteers. From our cooks, to servers and helpers with Santa and so many others, we can‘t do this without you!
Thank you so very much for lending your time. To all those who donated bake sale items, thank you! Over $300 was raised to further benefit Mamas for Mamas!
We have already had donations come in for The Giving Tree in support of Mamas for Mamas.
Thank you for the support!
Join us for a festive Saturday on December 2nd, from 9 am to 12 pm, at the community hall, where we have a delightful pancake breakfast, hayrides, and a special visit from Santa.
This year, “The Giving Tree” initiative is thrilled to partner with Mamas for Mamas, a remarkable charity that supports Calgary families in need.
Support Mamas for Mamas by either bringing an item to the Santa Breakfast or selecting an ornament from The Giving Tree at the event and dropping it off later. Accepted items include
Indulge your sweet tooth and back a great cause by contributing to our bake sale, a part of “The Giving Tree” initiative for Mamas for Mamas. To contribute baked goods, please contact bakesale@winstonheights.ca or call Samantha Nicastro at 403-619-5149. Drop off your baked goods on December 1st between 4 – 8 pm at the community hall, and kindly provide a list of ingredients with your contribution.
This year, we kindly ask attendees to register in advance. The event is free for current members and children under 12, and $10 for non-members.
We rely on community support, so if you can spare some time, please consider signing up for a volunteer shift.
Join us for another evening of brain-teasing fun at our Quiz Night on November 24 Doors open at 7:00 PM and Quiz Night begins at 7:30 PM! Gather your friends, family, or neighbours and form a team of up to 6 people for an unforgettable night of trivia excitement.
The event will feature a cash bar, so you can sip on your favorite beverages as you strategize and compete.
Don’t miss out on this exciting opportunity to test your knowledge, bond with your team, and make memories that will last a lifetime. Grab your friends and reserve your spot for Quiz Night on November 24th. We can’t wait to see who will emerge as the ultimate trivia champions!
Winston Heights-Mountview’s COMMUNITY CLEANUP, in partnership with the City of Calgary Waste & Recycling Services and Community Strategies, is back! Do some deep fall cleaning, help reduce waste in our landfills and support community organizations with recyclable donations. The event is FREE and everyone is welcome to participate.
Volunteers Needed!
24 volunteers are needed to ensure this event’s success. If you can help on Sept 16 for 3 hours, please sign up. It’s a great way to spend a few hours working outdoor with your neighbours. Volunteers will not be asked to lift more than they are able. We have a few spots for volunteers with physical limitations.
We provide all safety equipment as well as coffee, snacks and a hot lunch for vendors and volunteers. You can sign up at www.volunteersignup.org/3RPFH. If you have questions, contact Suzanne at 403-276- 5474 or volunteers@winstonheights.ca.
New This Year!
We hope to help up to 10 community residents who may be seniors, physically challenged, without a vehicle or just unable to get stuff to the hall by picking up items from their houses. For this, we need one volunteer with a truck. All items must be at ground level and no pianos will be picked up. If you would like a pickup on Sept 16, call Suzanne at 403-276-5474.
The City of Calgary has made two important changes since the last time we held this event. IT WILL NO LONGER ACCEPT ORGANICS AND RECYCABLES. It recommends that all recyclables which don’t fit into our blue bins be taken to the 16 th Ave. Depot (across the road from the Fanning Centre). Organics which don’t fit into our green bins are to be taken to a landfill.
Below are our vendors and a list of ACCEPTED and NOT ACCEPTED items.
PLEASE REVIEW BEFORE ARRIVING AT THE HALL.
The Winston Heights-Mountview Community Association is excited to announce we were awarded the “Energizing Spaces Powered by Enmax” grant!
An “Energy Star” certified upright freezer for our commercial kitchen and refrigerator with freezer for the West Hall are welcome additions. Not only will these new appliances serve our community events, they’ll also be welcomed by renters of the hall.
Thank you Enmax!
Neighbour Day is just around the corner! Come out for some BBQ, roving performers and Butterfield Acres Petting Zoo. The Calgary Police Service will be joining us too and will have a bicycle obstacle course set up, so make sure the kiddos bring their bikes! It’s sure to be a fun afternoon for the whole family! Volunteers are always needed! If you’d like to join the organizing committee, please contact James at: events@winstonheights.ca

Urban Forestry recognizes an immediate need to increase tree canopy on private land within our city. We have seen canopy loss on private land over the past 10 years. In efforts to support this direction, this year there will be 2000 trees given away to residential homes within the City of Calgary city limits.
