Rink Take Down

On April 9th 2016, members of the WHMCA-Rink/Oval put the rink boards into storage for the summer season. I would like to extend a big thank you to all who participated in this three hour operation. If not for the dedicated members of this cause, the WHMCA would be without a winter recreational facility.

This past season was shortened by the warmer weather, but the 10 week window of cool weather did allow us to create one of the best rinks in Calgary, if not the best. Every person who had a hand in the construction, maintenance, and storage of the rink deserves equal thanks, but a special note goes to Tony Nicastro and his chef at Nicastro’s, for the pizzas and refreshments. From all that were in attendance, “we salute you”.

Thank you everyone for your dedication to WHMCA; we are a community!

During the 2014-2015 season we had a great event every Tuesday evening ‘Community Skate Night‘. We would love to continue this event to through 2015-2016 season but to do so we will need your help!

We are looking for a couple of volunteers to come for the evening and help out. You can count on us to provide the ‘training’ to get the season started for you. Opening date to be confirmed, watch here for details!

Have gently used or unneeded equipment and skates (all types welcome)? We are happy to accept donations to increase inventory to provide more free equipment use to members of the community on Community Skate Night.

Here’s what others think of the rink!
