Community Hall Rules
- The procurement of the liquor license shall be the responsibility of the renter and such license will not extend beyond 12:30 am. The license must be posted prior to the service of alcohol. The liquor license must be shown to the rental agent prior to the event.
- Amplified music/live music or any kind of noise pass 1 am can result in the loss OF RETAINER DEPOSIT.
- If at any time the Calgary Police Service have been called to the community hall for noise disturbances or other infractions this will result in the loss OF RETAINER DEPOSIT.
- If any Hall activity (noise, music etc.) is continued after 2 am will result in the loss OF RETAINER DEPOSIT.
The Winston Heights/Mountview Community Hall welcomes your interest in renting our facility. To make an appointment for a personal showing of the facility, call 403 276 5474 Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm.
Reservations may be made a maximum of twelve (12) months prior to the desired date. Approved applications for the use of the Winston Heights/Mountview Community Hall shall be revocable at the discretion of the Winston Heights/Mountview Board and shall not be considered a lease.
Reservations will be accepted in person, by written application only, and must be approved by the Hall Manager before being booked. In case of concurring reservations, a Winston Heights/Mountview resident will be given priority. NO PHONE RESERVATIONS.
Rental Procedures
To reserve a date, applicant must appear in person with current ID and complete a rental application and pay the rental deposit of $100. This deposit is not considered as a clean up fee, but will be used toward the rental fee when paid in full – thirty days prior to the reserved date.
Cancellations
There is a $100 non-refundable cancellation fee for reservations cancelled prior to 30 days before the reservation date. Cancellations not made prior to 30 days before the reserved date will result in the loss of the $100 damage deposit.

Any party leaving without clean up will receive cleaning charges in addition to loss of their deposit. Note: Applicant name and ID must concur to receive resident fee.
Any room setup requirements must be received at least two (2) weeks before the event.
Additional hours may be prearranged on a per hour basis if available. Each additional hour incurred, but not prepaid, will be held from the damage deposit. Renters leaving early will not receive rental fees back.
Decorations
Decorations are permitted. Do not affix anything to ceiling. Tape and putty is allowed but tacks, nails and staples are prohibited anywhere. Use of such will result in forfeiture of the damage deposit funds.
RICE, BIRDSEED, CONFETTI, DANCE WAX (etc.): Use of such materials is not permitted inside the building or on the grounds and will result in forfeiture of the entire damage deposit.
Remove everything brought to the facility.
Note: Prior approval is needed from the Hall Manager before leaving any items in the facility for future pickup. The WHM Community Hall is not responsible for any equipment left in the facility.
Liquor/Smoking
Liquor is permitted in the banquet facility, but is prohibited on the front grounds, the parking lot, the lobby and the remainder of the facility. A liquor permit is required at all times when any liquor is on premise. SMOKING IS NOT PERMITTED WITHIN THE WHM Community Hall.
Table and Chairs
WHM Community Hall staff will set up tables and chairs as desired as part of the rental fee. Additional set ups or changes are the renters responsibility. After the rental, chairs and tables should be left as set up.
Flammable Materials
The use of flammable materials is regulated by the Calgary Fire Department. In compliance with City Fire Code and the City of Calgary Fire Marshall, THE USE OF CANDLES, PROPANE COOKING APPLIANCES, OR ANY OTHER TYPE OF OPEN FLAMES IS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN unless approved by the Hall Manager and Fire Marshall prior to the rental.
Additional Materials
Any additional equipment brought in by the renter must be pre-approved by the Hall Manager (i.e., special electrical equipment, lights, lifts, platforms, barbecues, open flame cooking appliances, ladders, etc.).
NOTE: The WHM Community Hall reserves the right to change or cancel any part of a use agreement and related scheduled activity.
